Quick Search Tip: Population and Unemployment Rates by State

A quick hint for searching for population and unemployment rates by state:

In Google, type population FL to find the population of Florida.

In the results, you'll see this:

If you click on the graph, you can mouse over various points on the chart to find population numbers for past dates.

Unemployment rates work the same way.  For example, to find the unemployment rate of Georgia, simply search for unemployment rate GA:


Notice that the sources for both searches come from government agencies - US Census Bureau and the US Bureau of Labor.
