New to the Reference Collection this week:

The Handbook of Developmental Psychology (155 Handbook) "is a comprehensive and authoritative overview of the study of human development presented in a single volume," so says the dust jacket.

Several Ratings' Guides from TheStreet.com, including Stock Mutual Funds (332 The-Street), Property & Casualty Insurers (368.006573 The-Street), Life & Annuity Insurers (368.32 The-Street), and Health Insurers (368.382 The-Street).  As the name suggests, these guides contain ratings for the remaining funds and insurers who continue to be solvent.

Two new medical reference books have been updated -- Current Medical Diagnosis & Treatment (CMDT) 2009 (616.07505 Current) and Adrenal Disorders (616.45 Adrenal).  The CMDT replaces the previous 2003 version, making it current again indeed.

Volume 36 of Shakespeare Studies has been added in Literature, and in History, Competing Voices from The Crusades (909.37 Competing) and Profiles of Florida (975.9 Profiles) have found their way to the stacks.  Crusades complements ideas expressed in our Opposing Viewpoints database, and Profiles of Florida contains statistics, demographics and comparative rankings.
